I just signed our family up for a CSA. I figure 1) it’s got to be easier to have produce delivered fresh from the farm than having to tote my crew out to the grocery store (eventhough we go often anyway); 2) the produce is fresher and benefits the farm more directly; and 3) if it’s in the house it will be eaten.

We started out with a fruit only box this morning, and woke up just in time for breakfast with:

  • 4 white peaches
  • 2 valencia oranges
  • 2 ruby grapefruits
  • 2 hass avocados
  • 1 bunch of seedless red grapes
  • 1 container of red pluots
  • 1 container of red plums
  • 1 green honeydew melon

Next week, we’re scheduled to receive a small veggie CSA– I can’t hardly wait for the heirloom tomatoes, my favorite! The website for our CSA allows you to preview what’s in the box, and set preferences for things you do not want, or add additional things that you do want. So fun! It also delivers to your home, whereas most CSAs I think you have to drive to a certain location in your area to pick up.

Oh, P.S., if you’re in California, check to see if Farm Fresh to You delivers in your area, then you can use my referral code to get $10 off your first order!
